Following Thailand, it’s now the time for a meeting between IRD and CTU teams to work on SIMPLE !

After Thailand, the project leader and coordinator travelled to Can Tho, in southern Vietnam, to meet the team from Can Tho University, one of the project’s three partners. SIMPLE Brings Virtual Reality (VR) to the Techfest Hải Phòng 2026

On 4th and 5th August 2026, the SIMPLE project joined Thuyloi University’s exhibition booth at the Techfest Hải Phòng 2026, held at Vietnam Maritime University. The event provided an opportunity for the team to introduce two VR activities to the public – ÉVEIL and HÀ NỘI 1926 – while also promoting the SIMPLE VR Contest, a competition inviting young creators to design their own VR experiences. Over the course of two days, the booth drew hundreds of visitors including young children, university students, technology professionals, business owners, and international guests alike. To ensure all visitors could engage with the experience, the team introduced an alternative viewing option via personal smartphones. Teaching Environmental Conservation Through Virtual Reality: SIMPLE at Thailand’s SMT 25 Conference

On 23rd July 2026, BiodiVRestorer, an immersive learning session developed within the SIMPLE Project, was showcased by the BioTec team from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) at the 25th National Conference on Science and Mathematics Education in Schools (SMT 25). The SIMPLE project, implemented by BeDev Consulting in Lao PDR, was featured in Vientiane, on 25 June 2026 during the Lao Side Event of the 22nd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation (AMMSTI-22). Under the theme “Advancing the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology and Innovation (APASTI) for a Resilient, Sustainable and Competitive ASEAN,” this side event showcased Lao innovations in science and technology to a regional audience of ASEAN delegates and policymakers.
