The Simple Project has successfully completed its first year of implementation. To celebrate this milestone and plan for the future, an annual Project Management Meeting was held on August 8th and 9th, 2024, at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

The meeting was designed to foster maximum interaction and encourage open dialogue among participants. This allowed everyone to share their thoughts and ideas freely, contributing to a productive and collaborative atmosphere. The in-person gathering also provided a valuable opportunity for team members to connect and strengthen their relationships, which was deemed essential for future success.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:

• Review of Year One: Participants reflected on the achievements and challenges of the first year, identifying areas for improvement and building on successes.

• Experience of Learning Units: The team had the opportunity to experience firsthand two new learning units developed by NSTDA and CTU, providing valuable feedback on their effectiveness and alignment with project goals. The session was an exciting experiment for all participants as they were able to attend in the real virtual universes and pedagogical procedure that will be implemented in schools later on in each country.

• Planning for Year Two: The meeting focused on outlining the key activities and milestones for the second year, including the preparation for school implementation at the end of 2024 and the development of new virtual universes.

The meeting was a valuable opportunity for project members to connect in person and share their thoughts. As agreed by all, more in-person meetings will be incorporated into the project’s future plans to strengthen collaboration and facilitate effective communication.

As the Simple Project enters its second year, the team is committed to building upon the successes of the first and delivering innovative VR experiences that inspire and educate young people about environmental issues.
