On November 6, 2025, the SIMPLE project organized its first co-construction workshop in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The workshop aimed to finalize the game script for the upcoming VR game. Building on discussions from the previous inception meeting, the theme of dengue fever was further refined for the upcoming VR game.
The workshop gathered experts from the National University of Laos (NUOL), the Ministry of Health, more specifically the Center of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (CMPE), along with representatives from Vientiane International School, Lycée de Vientiane, and Lycée Hoffet.

After in-depth discussions among specialists in VR, pedagogy, and health, the team reached a consensus on the game script. Every educational message included in the game is reviewed by health experts to ensure scientific accuracy and clear learning outcomes.
The game will consist of two modules, each designed to support a specific learning objective:
To help students grasp the rapid population growth of the Aedes mosquito when intervention is absent, this module focuses on the mosquito life cycle. Students will experience how quickly the vector population can increase if preventive measures are not set up/ put in place.
In this module, students will practice the three-step prevention method including Clear, Cover, Control directly in the VR game, using these strategies to protect themselves from Aedes mosquitoes.

In the coming months, BeDev Consulting, with the support of the SIMPLE team, will move forward with game designing, development of a prototype and of the corresponding learning scenario,to provide students with a cohesive and immersive learning experience.
