On May 27, 2025, the SIMPLE project proudly participated in the French Tech Summit Vietnam 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, showcasing its innovative use of Virtual Reality (VR) in environmental education.

Under the theme “Riding The Crest – France & Vietnam Empower Next-Wave Breakthroughs,” the summit highlighted cutting-edge sectors including AI, healthtech, greentech, fintech, digital transformation, gaming, blockchain, and edtech. With over 2,200 attendees, the event welcomed a diverse mix of tech startups, university students, nonprofit initiatives, and private companies.

The event was also honored by the presence of Clara Chappaz, the Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs (Ministre déléguée à l’Intelligence Artificielle et au Numérique) from France, who praised the spirit of innovation and Franco-Vietnamese collaboration.

At the event, the SIMPLE project presented two of its signature Virtual Universes (VUs) to a diverse audience: the Lũ lụt VR (Flooding) Model and AquaDefenders. The Lũ lụt VR Model simulates urban flooding in Đồng Hới, Quảng Bình Province, allowing users to explore and experiment with flood prevention strategies such as dike construction and designated expansion zones. In parallel, the SIMPLE team also introduced AquaDefenders—a serious game focused on salinity intrusion in the Mekong Delta, designed to equip young people with knowledge and tools for sustainable water management.

This showcase at the French Tech Summit once again reflected SIMPLE’s mission: combining serious gaming, scientific modeling, and virtual reality to promote environmental education and support climate resilience across ASEAN.
