Following a successful teacher training workshop in April, the SIMPLE project continued its implementation journey on May 11th, 2025, with a rehearsal teaching session at Can Tho University (CTU). This event served as an essential step toward refining the educational application of Virtual Universes (VUs) in teaching sustainability and environmental issues, with a particular focus on salinity intrusion in the Mekong Delta.

The session welcomed teachers who had previously participated in the VR pedagogical training, now returning to collaboratively test and improve their practical lesson plans. Notably, the workshop concentrated on enhancing the effectiveness of Vietnam’s exclusive Virtual Universe on salinity intrusion in classroom settings, ensuring its alignment with educational goals.

Throughout the day, the core teaching groups shared and presented their detailed lesson plans for both experimental classes (utilizing VR) and control classes (without VR). These presentations were made before the academic advisory board in two separate sessions:

These collaborative feedback loops played a vital role in finalizing both sets of lesson plans, contributing significantly to the pedagogical framework of the SIMPLE project. The CTU team, in close coordination with dedicated educators, continues to work diligently to deliver immersive yet effective learning experiences that resonate with school-age students.
As SIMPLE prepares for its next steps, this rehearsal session marks an important milestone in bridging innovative technology and curriculum-based environmental education.
